A Place to Land

Welcome to our new home! It's a work in progress but here is a little tour for those who want to get a peek at what it looks like...
I did it a little backwards but here's the staircase (duh!) going down...
Our bedroom...
Institutional bathroom #1 (aka the Master Bath)...we have a contractor coming on Friday to give us an estimate about helping us out with the aesthetic of these puppies...
Don't miss the mirrors in the master bedroom. If only you could see the really special carpet they left in the bottom of it. Let's just say that if we wanted to we could celebrate Christmas every day when we open our closet doors.
Guest bedroom...to our family and friends we love, if you are visiting and need a place to stay we can put you up!
Seth's office
Institutional bathroom #2 (aka the guest bathroom)
The living room (from the stairs), we just started painting yesterday and we have yet to paint underneath the chair rail...
The living room from the front door. Can't wait to use the fire place...
The kitchen (from the dining room)...
Seth staying busy on the phone and on the laptop but our dining room is packed right now...
Meet our fridge. Wondering why there aren't any drawers in it? Ask Seth. We weren't in the house for more than an hour before he attacked it, tore it apart and cleaned it. I wish I took pictures of the process. It was just too special for words.
Does he know how to put all the shelves and drawer back in the fridge? Guess...the answer is no. So they sit on the oven. If you know how to put things like this back together feel free to swing by any time and help us out. Any guesses on how long these puppies might stay on the counter?
Kitchen (from the sunroom)

Mooooooo. THE END.

The big move happens Saturday. Pray it doesn't rain!

Gratefulness

Psalm 16:2 "I say to the Lord, "You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you."
Tomorrow we go to settlement and barring no last minute glitches, we will leave with the keys to our new house. As I have anticipated this day for many months now, it is amazing to think of our God, who has blessed us with this home. He is our provider and we truly have been blessed far beyond what we deserve.
As we celebrated Easter this past Sunday I couldn't help but think about how kind God has been so kind to provide for us, in sending us his Son. Beyond that I can't help but think of all the blessings he has given to me:
A husband. Who cares for me and loves me so sacrificially and faithfully.
A family. Not one, but two!
Dear friends. Who really have become like family to us.
A home. For months this has been a dream, and tomorrow it will be ours (Lord willing)!
What an amazing thing it is to receive this with an open hand knowing that they come from our Father and that we truly have no good thing apart from Him.

Where's Lovey?

I can always seem to spot him from miles away even in unfamiliar places....can you find him here?

House Update #110

I feel like our blog has been consumed with the new house, but I guess right now its the most accurate refelction of what has been going on in our lives. From signing papers, to getting home owners insurance, to picking paint colors, sink vanities, flooring, furniture etc. we have been busy. Its hard to imagine what we are going to do with ourselves when it's all over.

The house has been closed up for almost 6 months now and needless to say it needs a little "airing out." My dear Mrs. Meyers saves the day yet again and with her help I can't wait to bring a new fresh smell into our home. I'm stocking up.

One week from today we go to settlement and Lord willing we will walk away with the keys to our very first home!
